Individual Therapeutic Support Sessions give space to process current or past hardships moving towards the future.
Tutapona’s staff utilize training in culturally contextualized best practice for mental health services, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, post traumatic growth, motivational interviewing techniques, resourcing in deep breathing and grounding techniques to connect, and offering practical ways to manage and reduce stress and symptoms.
The Individual Therapeutic Support Sessions are complimented through home visits, where staff members provide psycho-education to the client's family members to make the environment more supportive to the client, and to prevent stigmatization.
For people in need of more specialized mental health support, staff actively facilitate referral pathways linking people of concern with psychiatric care, and other services, where available.
